Connecting Local Libraries

We offer an array of services to our libraries, aiming to find chances to optimize resources, utilize our collective purchasing strength, and reduce expenses through collaboration.

Our Services

Borrowing Privileges

Residents of the system may use any of the public libraries in the two counties. In addition, OWLS has agreements which allow patrons to use many other public libraries in the state.

Interlibrary Loan

OWLS member libraries borrow materials directly from each other and from the libraries in Nicolet Federated Library System.

Delivery

OWLS’ delivery program is committed to putting desired materials in the hands of library patrons as quickly as possible. To achieve that goal, the system engages in several different activities.

Library Development

Our system’s grants empower children’s librarians to create captivating and educational experiences for young minds during the summer months.

OWLSnet and Tech Support

OWLS operates a shared, integrated library automation network (OWLSnet) for OWLS member libraries and member libraries of the Nicolet Federated Library System. OWLSnet services include circulation control, public access catalog, resource sharing, and Internet access.

OWLS professional staff offers consulting services on using microcomputers and electronic information resources effectively. Assistance with the development and maintenance of local library websites will also be provided.
